Decorative eye makeup

Decorative eye makeup allows choosing a combination of eyeshadows, lines, and eyelash emphasis. Before the appointment, decide what role the eyes will play in the overall look: will they be the main focal point or complement other facial features? Both options can be either subtle or bold.

Choose the color according to your idea

Show whether you want neutral shades, a single saturated color, or a combination of several colors. Eye color does not have to limit the choice to a single palette. You can choose similar tones or a deliberate contrast and ask the makeup artist to show the suggested direction.

Discuss the surface separately: matte, shimmering, or brightly glossy. The same shade with different surfaces can mean a different desired look. In the photo, specify the exact preferred spot instead of asking to repeat all details.

Line and shadow shape

Say whether you want a clear graphic line, a diffused contour, or shadows without a separate line. Discuss its length and intensity. If you usually don’t wear makeup, you can request to start with a softer version and then decide about the intensity.

Examine the result with open eyes and a normal facial expression. A photo with eyes closed alone does not show the entire everyday appearance. If you wear glasses, put them on before finally confirming the size and intensity of the accents.

Additional elements

If you want glued-on eyelashes or decorations, mention this when booking. Ask which elements are included, how they are attached and removed. If you do not want such elements, say clearly: expressive eye makeup does not inherently require them.

This order is for removable makeup. Eyelash extensions, laminating, and permanent makeup are separate services, which scope should be discussed separately. Their care instructions should not automatically apply to simple use of eyeshadows or mascara.

Purpose of products and hygiene

FDA eye cosmetics safety recommendations advise using products intended for the eye area, keeping products clean, and not sharing eye cosmetics. If irritation occurs, usage should stop, and if it persists, consult a doctor. In case of eye infection or inflammatory skin condition around the eyes, makeup is not used until recovery.

Before starting, inform about previous reactions and ask how the makeup artist prepares tools and products for different clients. Choosing an aesthetic style alone does not confirm the suitability of a particular product. Discuss any questions before beginning application.

End of the visit and corrections

Examine both eyes, the overall facial look, and chosen intensity. Say if you want a shorter line, less shine, or softer lower contour. Such requests are easiest to fulfill while still with the makeup artist.

Ask how to refresh specific areas and how to remove used products and additional elements. If you want to repeat the look, write down shades and photograph the result without filters. This will be a clearer starting point for the next visit than just the service name.
